Electron Microscopy Sciences Applied Physics LaB6 Cathode for ISI / Topcon
Lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) and cerium hexaboride (CeB6) cathodes are ideal for many small spot size applications such as SEM, TEM, surface analysis and metrology, and for high current applications such as microwave tubes, lithography, electron-beam welders, X-ray sources and free electron lasers. Greater brightness from low work function yielding higher currents at lower temps than tungsten.

Lanthanum Hexaboride is the optimum cathode material for use in SEM, TEM, X-Ray Microanalysis, and Electron Beam Lithography and is a direct replacement for tungsten filaments. It features low potential barrier (work function), high melting point and stability at high temperatures, a low vapor pressure that reduces evaporation lost, and chemical stability. The LaB6 beam is ten times brighter than tungsten, has superior resolution and can be used in a wide range of accelerating voltages. It provides sharp and clear pictures even to the smallest details. Heat and vacuum are the determinants of cathode tip's life, but at 1550 °C and 10-7 Torr, a service life of about 500 hours can be achieved.

Sartorius Incucyte Imagelock plate
The Incucyte Imagelock 96-well Plate is a specially designed 96-well microtiter plate that contains fiducial marks that allow for precise image registration of the same field of view even when the plates are manually removed and replaced within the Incucyte Live-Cell Analysis System. However these markings are subtle enough to not interfere with images acquired at the cell plane. This enables accurate image analysis that is required for scratch wound cell migration and invasion assays when used with the Incucyte Live-Cell Analysis System and software.

The SmartDoc system uses a smart phone or tablet to quickly obtain quality images of gels for your records or anaylsis. With an adjustable focal distance for optimum focus, the SmartDoc enclosure is simply place over your gel and transilluminator. Lay your smart phone or tablet onto the non-slip, rubber pad, and align the camera lens over the filter. Raising and lowering the platform allows optimization of focus and image size.
